• Account information: Your email address, account identifier, and authentication information needed to create and manage your account.
• Recipe information: Ingredients, dietary preferences, allergies, cooking preferences, recipe requests, generated recipes, saved recipes, grocery-list information, and similar content you choose to provide.
• Images you submit: Photos you choose to upload or capture for ingredient detection or recipe generation.
• Subscription information: Subscription status, product purchased, transaction identifiers, entitlement status, renewal status, and purchase history associated with RecipeGenius.
• Usage information: Information such as the number of recipes generated, feature usage, saved recipe counts, and monthly usage limits.
• Technical information: Device type, operating system, app version, diagnostic information, and error information that may be necessary to operate and improve the app.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create, authenticate, and manage user accounts.
• Generate personalized recipes and meal suggestions.
• Analyze submitted ingredient photos.
• Save recipes and create grocery lists.
• Apply dietary preferences, allergies, and other filters.
• Track monthly recipe-generation usage.
• Provide and verify subscription benefits.
• Restore purchases and manage account entitlements.
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
• Provide customer support.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve RecipeGenius.

We do not sell your personal information and do not use your information for third-party advertising.

3. Artificial Intelligence Processing

RecipeGenius uses artificial intelligence services to generate recipes, identify ingredients, and provide related app functionality.

Information you submit for these features, such as ingredients, preferences, recipe requests, and selected images, may be sent to our artificial intelligence service provider for processing.

Do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential information, or images containing information you do not want processed for these purposes.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We use service providers to operate RecipeGenius. These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to us.

• Supabase: Used for authentication, database hosting, account information, saved recipes, usage information, and backend functionality.
• OpenAI: Used to process recipe requests, ingredients, preferences, and images for AI-powered features.
• RevenueCat: Used to manage subscriptions, purchase status, entitlements, and purchase restoration.
• Apple: Used to process App Store purchases and subscriptions. We do not directly receive or store your full payment-card information.

These providers maintain their own privacy policies and may process information in countries other than the country where you live.

5. Payment Information

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. RecipeGenius does not directly collect or store full credit-card or debit-card details.

We may receive information needed to determine whether a subscription is active, such as a product identifier, transaction identifier, expiration status, and entitlement status.

6. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable under data-protection law, we process personal information based on one or more of the following:

• Performance of a contract, such as providing the app and subscription features you request.
• Legitimate interests, such as maintaining security, preventing misuse, and improving the service.
• Consent, where consent is required.
• Compliance with legal obligations.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide RecipeGenius, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize associated personal information unless we are required or permitted to retain it for legal, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or similar purposes.

Some information processed by third-party providers may be retained according to those providers' retention policies.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

No storage or transmission system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Request deletion of your information.

10. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your RecipeGenius account and associated data by contacting us at the email address below.

Deleting your RecipeGenius account does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription. Subscriptions must be cancelled through your Apple ID subscription settings.

11. Children's Privacy

RecipeGenius is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to personal-data processing in their country.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authorization. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information improperly, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

12. International Data Transfers

RecipeGenius and its service providers may process information in countries outside your country of residence. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.

Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers of personal information.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this page.

Material changes may also be communicated through the app or by another appropriate method.
